Republicans Form NCNA, Lets Watch It Grow!!
Town hall Meetings Explain Conservative Views
Since November and even prior to the election the Republican party had seemed fractured, broken in places. There was dissension within the party and they had surely lost sight of what the GOP stood for. They lost the conservative values and principles the party has stood for in the past, the values upon which it was founded.
The Republican party has recently come together to form this new council. Its purpose is to take the party's message on the road and work on new ideas for the future. House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, one of the leading architects of the effort, told FOX News Thursday that the program's objective is to "forge new solutions" and "engage again and empower the people to become part of the process."
"All the ideas shouldn't come from Washington," said Cantor.
In a recent letter Cantor pointed out that the effort is not meant to be exclusive, it is a not a Republican only forum. "This forum will engage in a conversation with America that seeks to remove ideological filters, addresses the realities we are confronting, and speaks to the challenges our citizens are facing," Republican leaders John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mike Pence, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, John Carter, Pete Sessions, David Dreier, Kevin McCarthy, Roy Blunt, Mitch McConnell, Jon Kyl, Lamar Alexander and John Cornyn wrote in the letter.
The NCNA will be a dynamic, forward-looking organization that will amplify the common-sense and wisdom of our fellow citizens through a grassroots dialog with Republican leaders," the letter said.
President Obama who likes to portray the party as the "party of No" because of their lack of embracing his socialist policies. The NCNA will look ahead to undo any public perception that the Republican is against new ideas.
GOP Leader, Sen. John Boehner stated "Our brand has been tarnished".
The party wishes to move ahead with new solutions and return power to the people so that they may become part of the process. The NCNA hopes to talk to the American people through a schedule of town hall meetings and online efforts and bring them together to meet the common goal of building a stronger America through common sense ideas.
Common sense is not something we have seen a lot of these past 100 + days in the Obama Whitehouse.
They held their first town hall meeting this past Saturday in Arlington, VA. Key speakers were former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush along with Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
At this first town hall meeting, House Minority Whip Cantor, told the crowd " Certainly our party has taken its licks the last few cycles, but that's why we're here. he went on to say "The reality is, the prescriptions coming out of Washington right now are not reflective of the mainstream of this country."
"Any topic will be included in the national dialog," he said. "There are no limits."
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said it's time for Republicans "to listen a little bit, learn a little bit." He advised Republicans to work on the party's message and "not be so nostalgic."
We at Speak Now America will report on future meetings of the NCNA. We think they are right on with this idea, bringing it back to the American people is the way to go. We do not need more government, we do not need to have rights taken from us so we "toe the line" what we need is to be heard!
It is time to show who we are, it is time to show how we can bring positive change to our country. The key word is WE not them, not the government alone, telling us what they think we want or need. We are talking about bringing it back to "We the people" and we think the NCNA can do this one town hall meeting at a time!
