Saving America Part 6

Every day the progressive elitists with their mainstream media call social security an entitlement.  In calling it an entitlement the progressives are attempting to make people who worked hard all their lives feel wrong for the Social Security benefits that they have paid for.

Social Security was established as a trust fund, its purpose was to established a retirement supplement for hardworking Americans.  The trust fund is to help hardworking Americans in their retirement years have a better life.

As originally established the money comes from your paycheck and was to be put into a trust fund for Social Security.  The trust fund would then invest the monies collected into treasury bonds.  Treasury bonds pay interest on the monies and the trust fund for Social Security would keep growing.  In reality the Federal government is borrowing money from the trust fund and paying interest on the money borrowed.

During the Presidency of Lyndon Johnson the Democratically controlled House and Senate took Social Security from the independent trust fund and put it into the general fund of the government.  Congress was running deficits so they used the Social Security Trust fund to reduce those deficits. 

Under the control of the Democrats there have been several changes made to Social Security.  Democrats eliminated the tax deduction for Social Security.  Democrats along with Al Gore casting the tiebreaking vote started taxing Social Security annuities.  The Democrats led by Jimmy Carter began to give Social Security payments to immigrants who moved into America.  Immigrants who have never paid a dime into Social Security system were receiving Social Security payments.

The Democrats have over the years made many damaging changes to Social Security.  How many times have we heard the Democrats scary elderly people dependent on Social Security by telling them the Republicans would destroy Social Security?  All the while the Democrats were the ones destroying Social Security.

We need Representatives and Senators who will restore the integrity of Social Security.  Who will change the laws and make Social Security a trust fund again.  We need Representatives and Senators who will stop Social Security payments to immigrants who never have paid in to the Social Security Trust fund.

Representatives and Senators are needed that will not take from the retired to give to healthy able bodied Americans and immigrant who won’t work.  The progressive elitists can call Social Security an entitlement if they want, but that is not what it is.  Social Security has been earned and paid for by hardworking Americans.
