Program Helps Foreign Carmakers Does Nothing For The Environment

Add cash for clunkers as yet another debacle for the elitist progressive liberal Barack Hussein Obama and his inept administration.  At last count three billion plus dollars has been wasted.  The program does nothing for the environment.  It is helping foreign carmakers with American tax dollars.

The sample version is american taxpayers will pay consumers $3500 to $4500 for trading in their 1985 or newer cars with an estimated 18 MPG or less for a new car with an EPA average of 22 MPG or more.

These restrictions eliminate Mustangs, Chargers, Camaros, and G8’s from qualifying.  It doesn’t eliminate some pickup trucks.  Even the elitist progressive liberal mainstream media has revealed the program to be an ill conceived debacle.

We have to pay attention of the cover-up.  The law requires that within 60 days of when the program ends the Secretary of Transportation must submit a report of efficiency to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.  The House Committee is chaired by Henry Waxman who is responsible for the devastating Cap and Trade bill.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, you must demand that their real environmental impact of cash for clunkers is revealed.  All that’s required now to be reported is “an estimate of the overall increase in fuel efficiency in terms of MPG, total annual savings, and total annual greenhouse gas reductions.” Without the report it is a foregone conclusion that the bill will be judged by those standards.

To get the true resolve to the environment the report must also include the total impact from the destruction of the older vehicles as well as from manufacturing and delivering of the new cars.  What is the environmental impact of destroying these older vehicles?  What is the environmental impact from the car haulers and the crushers themselves, plus the overloading of landfills?  What is the environmental impact of building the new vehicles?  These should be part of the equation to determine the success of the program.  The elitist progressive liberals don’t want that in the equation because it becomes a loser program.

The elitist progressive liberal government officials are dead set on spending taxpayer money to devastate our economy with such laws as cash for clunkers and Cap and trade legislation.  This is all done in the name of false, grandstanding environmentalism.

Then too is the fact that the Obama Administration can't manage this small cash for clunker program.  Auto dealers are not getting the government payments they are supposed to.  It appears being a community organizer doesn't train you to run government programs.  Auto dealers are pulling out of the program for non payment.
