White House Now Admits To Sending Unwanted Email

After First Insisting No One Was Receiving Unsolicited Emails From The White House.

We have seen this pattern all through out this administration. Lie first, tell the truth only after all lies have been exhausted.

In regards to the unsolicited email in which the White House had vehemently denied sending out. They now admit(because they were caught) that they did send it.  In a statement released from the administration:

"It has come to our attention that some people may have been subscribed to our e-mail lists without their knowledge likely as a result of efforts by outside groups of all political stripes and we regret any inconvenience caused by receiving an unexpected message," Phillips wrote. "We're certainly not interested in anyone receiving e-mails from the White House who don't want them. That's one reason why we have never and will never add names from a commercial or political list to the White House list," he wrote.

"The White House takes online privacy very seriously. As our published privacy policy makes clear, we will not share personal information submitted through the site with anyone," he wrote.

It came out afterwards that the White House hired a private communications company based in Minnesota to distribute mass e-mails, helping to shed light on how some recipients received e-mails in support of President Obama's health care plan without signing up for them, FOX News has learned.

The company, Govdelivery, describes itself as the world's leading provider of government-to-citizen communication solutions and says its e-mail service provides a fully-automated on-demand public communication system. It is still unknown how much taxpayer money the White House provides to Govdelivery for its services.

"This is yet another ominous chapter in the administration's rabid campaign to jam its radical health care scheme onto an unwilling public by any means necessary," Rep. Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan said in a statement.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has sent a letter to the White House asking for the "full truth" behind the Axelrod e-mails and expressing concern that "political e-mail address lists were used for official purposes."

Chris Hansen, a staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union told FOX News that if the White House used the private firm, it's the same as if it had sent the e-mails.

The White House insists that Govdelivery aggregates nothing and plays no role in the formation of its e-mail list; it is merely an end-product e-mail distributor.

Apparently the Obama administration feels that they may be above the laws that govern the rest of us, we are here to tell them they are wrong. It is we who put them in office, we can and will take them out. They are supposed to lead by example and with the way they are going we sure would not want anyone following in their footsteps. They have taken the wrong path in just about every place they have traveled in the past eight months.

Questions still remain as to whether there was a violation of federal law with the sending of this email. As reported prior the CAN- SPAM act may have been violated.  The CAN-SPAM (”Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing”) Act, passed in 2003, requires emailers to “give recipients an opt-out method,” according to the Federal Trade Commission. Axelrod’s email did not do that. There was no way for a recipient to "opt out" of future mailings.

The White House now says it will change the way emails are sent out in the future. By changing its e-mail sign-up procedures after some recipients of a health-care e-mail complained that they had not asked to receive updates.

“We are implementing measures to make subscribing to e-mails clearer, including preventing advocacy organizations from signing people up to our lists without their permission when they deliver petition signatures and other messages on individual’s behalf,” spokesman Nick Shapiro said in a statement Sunday night.

Time will tell if they will adhere to their own new measures but be aware America we will surely be watching them to see if they are or they are not.

We as americans are expected to live by the laws that govern us and it is not and should not be too much to ask that those who hold the highest offices in this country do the same.
