The Immorality of Homosexuality Part I
Can We Love the Sinner While Hating the Sin?
Every week, I take the time to check conservative sources for the latest freedom under attack, the newest vapor or stealth bill Obama’s crowd is trying to sneak past the American people, and particularly the most recent moral principle being sacrificed on the altar of Obama’s toxic narcissistic ego.
Last week drives this article: Obama stood in front of more than 2,000 gay rights activists from the Human Rights Campaign and promised, “I’m here with a simple message. I’m here with you in that fight” (said fight being the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy in our military forces); and promises to continue defending and protecting Kevin Jennings, the ‘safe schools czar’ and Chai Feldblum, his nominee for the head of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). More about their philosophies in my next article; both are morally bankrupt people selected for leadership roles in our country.
In the typical volume of non-information provided by Obama, he made a statement that will serve as the foundation for this – the first of 3 articles – consideration of homosexuality, morality, God, and what He defined for us in the matter.
Obama is quoted as saying, “Nobody in America should be fired because they're gay, despite doing a great job and meeting their responsibilities. It's not fair, it's not right, we're going to put a stop to it. And it's for this reason if any of my nominees are attacked not for what they believe but for who they are, I will not waver in my support because I will not waver in my commitment to ending discrimination in all its forms."
Before we consider how Obama views ‘fair’ in his perversion of morality, let’s consider how God instructs us to view homosexuality. God loves mankind. His form of love is perfect and unless we know Him, this love is often a mystery to us. Many even call His love – and the love we are to imitate – hateful, vicious, and not love at all! Of course, this is ignorance; God’s love demonstrates the best interests of His created beings – people. When we consider how to weigh morality in our lives and society, it is important to love the sinner and hate the sin. Is that possible when homosexuality is identified in God’s word as an abomination worthy of death (Leviticus 20:13) and those who practice such cannot inherit the kingdom of God (I Corinthians 6:9-10)? God does, therefore, so must we if we are to please Him.
Morality – when defined by God – does not change. I can and must love the person who commits the heinous sin of homosexuality without ever accepting, overlooking, or embracing the sin in their life. Morality – when defined by people – changes with the loudest voices, the most rabid lobbying, the largest looming threat, or the greatest fear of retribution. The homosexual populace has long (2 decades) reported that 10% of the population is homosexual. This group was forced to lower this percentage in Lawrence v. Texas – a case where the homosexual population was attempting to get Texas to rule its law against sodomy as unconstitutional – to 2.8% and 1.4% of the male and female (respectively) population that identify themselves as homosexual. This number, however, was obtained by multiplying the listed percentages by the total number of US males and females. According to the National Health and Social Life Survey, however, they did not account for the 60 million US residents under the age of 14; when adjusted, the percentages fall to 0.9% male and 0.4% female – totaling 1.4 million – declared homosexuals. For more than 20 years, this tiny group has hyper-inflated their numbers to gain influence with politicians, efficacy in recruiting children, and seeming legitimacy. In light of these very small numbers, then, why does homosexuality have such power in our society today?
When you listen to the widely known account of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19) – or the lesser known account of the Levite priest and his concubine (Leviticus 19) – you clearly see the demanding nature of this particular sin and its urgent desire to overwhelm good. Descriptions of shouting, demanding, pounding on doors for access, intimidation, pressing against something until it nearly breaks, refusal to listen to reason, and the like, all represent the din that homosexuality forces upon the ears of the morally intact. Sadly, those who endorse such morally bankrupt behavior believe that by gaining widespread acceptance (i.e., ‘tolerance’), they will finally be at peace with something that flies in the face of their very being. We were created in God’s image and He hates homosexuality; how can we find inner peace if we fight against our creator and ourselves?
When homosexuality is seemingly embraced by a country, however, the chaos and unease do not disappear. Consider the Peruvian cultures of Moche and Chimu (~100 - 800 AD), ancient Greece, and Rome; widespread homosexuality and rampant sexual immorality were societal norms. Each country was seriously affected by the immorality embraced through homosexuality; although not known for certain, several noted anthropologists believe that the ancient Peruvian civilizations died out as a direct result of homosexual practices. We know for certain that this was the reason for the total annihilation of Sodom and Gomorrah!
So, what does Obama really mean when he says he will protect his immoral czars, cabinet members, and administration staff from those who would attack because of ‘who they are’? Am I not the result of the set of beliefs by which I live? Do my morals dictate how I treat others?
Sometimes called the Ethics of Reciprocity or widely known as The Golden Rule, Jesus said that we are to treat others as we wish to be treated (Luke 6:21) and this requires that we hate the sin, not the sinner. If Obama treats us as he wishes to be treated, he has self-loathing to spare! He has been promoting hate crimes legislation and basks in the political cover provided by such people as Joe Solmonese – gay rights advocate and Human Rights Campaign president – who said of Obama, “We have never had a stronger ally in the White House – never…” Were POTUS standing on the Golden Rule, his statement would carry some weight – we are to treat the person as we wish to be treated – but honest hearts seek truth and value someone loving them enough to tell it. In essence, Obama is saying it’s okay to attack beliefs but not the core of the egregious sinner. I can – and will - do that, Obama; stay tuned for next week’s article in which I will expose the true agendas/beliefs of the active homosexuals in your administration and the programs of those who are ‘tolerant’ of this destructive and decaying lifestyle.
It is going to take real courage to stand against such sin and corruption, America. Trust God, stand up, and join me; He will bless the efforts to fight against such evil and we will recover a country that has lost its way. If we don’t, we will deserve the moral decay, dark days, and loss of home and country that looms.
As always, I end with God’s words:
I Corinthians 13:6 says, [love] “does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth…”
Always, Faithful
