73% of Republicans Say Congressional Leaders Have Lost Touch
Over 40% Of America Says They Are Conservatives
Just 15% of Republicans who plan to vote in 2012 state primaries say the party’s representatives in Congress have done a good job of representing Republican values. The Republican leaders need to pay attention to the people. They can’t out Democrat the Democrats and survive.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 73% think Republicans in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters from throughout the nation. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided.
Now 31% of likely Republican primary voters rate economic issues as the priority in determining how they will vote, followed by 25% who see national security issues that way. Fiscal issues are most important for 15%, while 12% cite domestic issues and 7% cultural issues.
Over 40% of Americans consider themselves conservative. Republican Congressional leaders don’t seem to understand this. America is conservative and our Republicans leaders are becoming more liberal. They have completely lost touch with America.
Americans, particularly registered and likely voters are disillusioned and disgusted with both political parties and their candidates, who seem to be over-promising, under-delivering, asking for too much, and taking advantage of their positions.
Republicans can make a difference. First though the Republican leaders need to go back to their roots. They need to listen to America. The far left Republicans would probably be happier as Democrats. Their views are the same.
