Democrats Stand And Applaud Obama’s Attempt To Intimidate Supreme Court

It is unheard of for a President to attack the Supreme Court.   It was disgraceful for the socialist Democrats to stand and applaud when he did.  Does Obama understand the Constitution?  Does Obama think he is above the Constitution?  Worse the attack is a lie.  Obama distorted the ruling because he is mad and it’s easier for him to lie than tell the truth.  The left wing talking point that the ruling lets foreign businesses run ads in campaigns is a LIE.

After steadily bashing greedy Wall Street firms, evil insurance companies, polluting energy firms, and profligate auto executives, President Obama on Thursday blasted a Supreme Court ruling that empowers those same companies to fight back against his big-government agenda.

Obama added: "It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies, and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans."

"I think this is ideological for the President," Brian Darling, director of Senate relations at the Heritage Foundation, tells Newsmax. "I think he and the left are intent on taking away the voice of corporate America.

"They feel like if they can take away the voice of corporate America, it's much more easy to regulate, and to tax them out of existence. They don't like allowing a corporate voice during these elections. Left-leaning politicians are naturally more hostile to business interests," Darling adds. "And they're fearful these business interests will take it out on them when they're deciding to run ads."

"If McCain-Feingold's provisions related to corporate spending are unconstitutional, anything Congress does on that issue is presumably unconstitutional," Darling said. "So for Obama to call on Congress to do anything short of a constitutional amendment is an empty threat."

Bradley A. Smith, professor, Capital University explains the ruling and Obama's Lie:

This was a very partisan, unpresidential State of the Union address, but there is one particular on which I will comment. The President said: “Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections.

Well, I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.”

Here the President is referring to the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the case in which the government claimed the authority to ban books. The President’s statement is false.

Foreign nationals, which is specifically defined to include foreign corporations, are prohibited from making “a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a federal, state or local election.” They are also prohibited from making any contribution or donation to any committee of any political party, and they are prohibited from making any “expenditure, independent expenditure or disbursement for an electioneering
communication. ...” 2 United States Code Section 441e.

This is demagoguery of the worst kind by our President.

The Obama administration is the most corrupt in America’s history.  To attempt to intimidate the Supreme Court is unconscionable.  Who does Obama think he is?  He is acting more like a dictator than President of America.
