When Did Opposition Become Racist?
Few combinations are more poisonous than race and politics. The socialist Democrats with the aid of the main stream media are playing a very dangerous game with the race card. When and how did any opposition to the socialist agenda of Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats become racist?
Since the summer of 2008 it has become racist if you oppose anything Obama says or proposes. The main stream media helps portray all opposition as racist. For the Democrats and main stream media has become an increasingly common response to the growing public anger at the policies of the Obama administration and the way the administration imposes those policies.
The Democrats have intentionally tried to instigate incidents with Americans who protest what the Democrats are doing to America. The Democrats walking up to Capitol Hill in their triumph over America when passing Obamacare socialized health care. Nancy Pelosi carrying the oversized gavel to mock hard working taxpaying citizens as she strutted passed them. Those Democrats were deliberately trying to provoke the crowd.
Then some of the Democrats accused those in the crowd of expressing anger and making racial slurs directed at the black members of Congress strutting beside Pelosi. Those are serious charges and deserve to have serious evidence. The main stream media was there with cameras and many of the crowd had video cameras.
Even with a reward of $100,000 offered for a video of racial slurs none have turned up. The main stream media though played up the racist slurs by the crowd.
The Democrats and main stream media are losing the battle with America over Obamacare and the socialist agenda they are pushing. They have no valid arguments for their agenda. Their talking points no longer are believed by a vast majority of Americans. When all else fails call the opposition names and accuse them of being racist. That now is the Democrats and main stream media’s only recourse.
Using the racist card this way is dangerous. Although still with a ways to go America has come a very long way in eliminating racism. This ill advised use of racism now can and will cause harsh divides in America.
The Democrats with the help of the main stream media are attempting to pit Americans against other Americans to push their socialist agenda. To push their socialist agenda do they really want to foment racial tension and divide among Americans?

Tell you what: if you don't demonize democrats and socialists, I promise not to demonize social and fiscal conservatives, tea party members, republicans, or libertarians. Let's start this conversation with the assumption that we all want good things for this country, the world, and each other. We may have different opinions on where to draw the line between personal freedoms and benefit of the common good, but we all have a vested interested in a healthy economy, reducing poverty, increasing education, and the freedom to pursue lives that are meaningful to us.
We can collectively ignore the attacks against people, and spend time talking about real issues regarding governance. I'm sincerely interested to hear your thoughts on all kinds of issues. I'm not at all interested in reading about conspiratorial agendas. If your ideas are well stated, researched, and convincing, then I'm inclined to agree with you.

Alec we don't demonize and call names. A socialist is a socialist and you can't use different poll tested names to hide it. When I proudly wore my uniform during the Viet Nam war I was called many very unkind things. In the last year I and many Americans who beleieve in a free America have been called teabaggers, brown shirts, American terrorists, red necks (btw I'm proud to be a red neck) and many other names. The left when losing the true battle of words and thoughts resorts to lies and name calling. You can't hide from the truth that the left is the name callers.

Well, I'm on the left end of the spectrum and I'm not name calling. Also, there is a difference between name calling and demonizing. As an example, you use the word socialist as if it were evil by face value. Pretend I don't know what a socialist is. All you've said is that "a socialist is a socialist" with some kind of angry connotation attached to it. What do socialists believe? More importantly, why do they believe it? Surely they are not all freeloaders wanting to live off of the hard work of others. If you want to defeat someone's idea, you have to avoid attacking their charcter.
I'm sorry that you were disrespected so much after serving your country, but that really has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
I'm sincerely curious what you mean by a "free America," especially in contrast to the American society as it exists today.

You can reply to or open interesting threads. We beleive in free speech and that everyone should have the right to their beliefs.

I'm glad you asked what a socialist is and what they believe but it is hard to tell because I don't think most of them know themselves. What do you base your beliefs on, do you have a socialist constitution? When I Googled socialism the definition is the period of transition between capitalism and communism yet when I ask socialists if they are communists they say no!

From one red neck to another I wish you could join the Brotherhoods Freedom Riders!If people want to be socialists they should move anywhere because this is "The land of the free and the home of the brave!" If you don't love it then leave it! If America sucks so much then why does everyone want to come here? To bad socialists can't pull it out.I'll bet they never served their country either, crybabies. That phrase "the benefit of the common good", don't you mean your good at the sake of those who worked for it? A real American can take care of themselves where I come from and if they can't and they are good people then the community will help them out of the goodness our our proud American hearts! Time to wake up socialists, there is no free lunch for the slacker and the hard worker who tries need only ask if they need help. God Bless America!
