Republican Priorities For 2010 Election
First Priority Will Be To Repeal Obamacare
House Minority Leader John Boehner says that if you give Republicans control of Congress in 2010, their #1 priority will be to repeal Obamacare. The Republicans won’t get enough votes in the Senate to overturn a veto by socialist Barack Hussein Obama but up until 2012 elections they can stop funding of Obamacare socialized health care. That will prevent Obamacare from destroying health care until conservatives can gain control.
"I’ve never seen a bill pass the House of Representatives that the American people knew about, that the American people had discussed, debated, and had decided ‘no,'" Boehner said. "This is why the anger that’s out there, frustration that’s out there, and frankly, I think, a lot of this is now turning to resolve — resolving that the American people are going to do something about this."
The Republicans do need to work on the repeal of Obamacare. Here are some other principles on which the Republicans might run:
1. The House Ways and Means committee, now under Republican leadership, will immediately hold hearings on tax reduction and tax overhaul.
2. Pledge to take all unspent stimulus funds and apply them to the deficit.
3. Introduce legislation implementing GOP ideas for health care reform, including allowing people to buy insurance across state lines.
4. Block any attempts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Make it clear that the Republican Party recognizes the value of immigration and its role in the formation of our country; but that the rule of law is also an important component of the American story and it must be honored.
5. If the Republicans gain control in the Senate there will be no more Obama-appointed liberal activist judges appointed to federal courts.
6. Pledge to honor the U.S. Constitution as written by our founding fathers, not as re-written by liberal activists.
7. Pledge to reduce the size of government when the opportunity strikes - when the Republicans control the congress and the White House. Start by eliminating the Department of Education.
8. Hold hearings on the whether or not government employee unions serve the best interests of this country and the taxpayers; and that includes the teachers unions.
9. Pledge to promote school choice nationwide. Adopt the theory that the tax money should follow the child to the school of the parent's choice, not the child following the money.
10. Begin work immediately to divest government holdings in all private businesses.
These 10 points are a start for an agenda. We need to change the course of the federal government back to freedom and away from Obama’s socialist agenda. Unite America for Election 2010.
