Obama Mad Arizona Governor Signs Immigration Law
Some Truckers Threaten Boycott Of Arizona
Friday socialist Barack Hussein Obama called the Arizona immigration bill "misguided" and instructed the Justice Department to examine it to see if it's legal. He also said the federal government must enact immigration reform at the national level — or leave the door open to "irresponsibility by others."
"That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe," Obama said. The trust with law enforcement is keeping America safe and part of that is sending illegal aliens home.
Why has Obama remained silent on other activity which is illegal? The Justice Department didn’t prosecute the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation and that was on video. Obama and his administration have refused to investigate the illegal tactics of ACORN. Yet socialist Obama wants to investigate Arizona for passing a law to protect American citizens.
The law sends "a clear message that Arizona is unfriendly to undocumented aliens," said Peter Spiro, a Temple University law professor and author of the book "Beyond Citizenship: American Identity After Globalization." Mr. Spiro it’s supposed to send a clear message. Undocumented alien means illegal alien.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund said it plans a legal challenge to the law, arguing it "launches Arizona into a spiral of pervasive fear, community distrust, increased crime and costly litigation, with nationwide repercussions."
Governor Jan Brewer, who faces a tough election battle and growing anger in the state over illegal immigrants, said the law "protects every Arizona citizen." She went on to say, "We must enforce the law evenly, and without regard to skin color, accent, or social status. We must prove the alarmists and the cynics wrong."
Jesus Serrano, the independent owner-operator of a Los Angeles -based trucking company, said that about 70 drivers based in California and Arizona had agreed to stop moving loads into or out of Arizona in protest of the new law. He hopes to get 200 truckers on board for a five-day boycott that will start within 48 hours of the bill's signing.
However, Collin Stewart , the chairman of the Arizona Trucking Association , hadn't heard of the boycott plans and said he wouldn't expect what he described as a "CB radio revolt" by independent owner-operators to affect distribution significantly.
"I would not imagine there would be any kind of major reduction in the flow or volume of freight," he said. "Usually these things are relegated to a small group of individuals. The immigration debate is a hot topic in Arizona right now, but it always is."
What the state of Arizona and Governor Brewer are doing is courageous and the right thing to do. The illegal aliens are costing American taxpayers billions of dollars every year. It’s time to send all illegal’s home.
