Does Obama Fear Cameron?

Socialist vs. Conservative

David Cameron England’s new conservative Prime Minister met with socialist Barack Hussein Obama in Washington.  Cameron is probably one of Obama’s biggest fears.  If Cameron succeeds in saving England’s economy he will be providing a model for a Republican victory in 2012.

Cameron is a fiscal conservative and resembles the new breed of Republican governors like Chris Christie.  He believes that good governing begins with disciplined accounting. During the past fiscal year, Britain's deficit was larger as a percentage of its economy than Greece's. Cameron is slashing Britain’s budget.

Britain is cutting health programs and foreign assistance.  The other government departments will see on average a 25% reduction.  Bond investors and credit raters are responding positively to Cameron’s austerity budget.  When the cuts take hold we may well see strikes and demonstrations.

This is risky strategy for Cameron in a country where socialism is not an epithet but a founding commitment of one of the main political parties.  Cameron’s austerity budget is economically responsible.  Studies show that reducing government expenditures by one percentage point increases average annual growth of the GDP by 0.6%.

Obama and the Democrats are working overtime in their attempt to make America a socialist country.  They are increasing the deficit at an astounding rate.  Now they are talking about huge tax increases to offset the costs of their socialist programs.

If Cameron’s approach works in England it will give the Republicans here a campaign platform of the fiscal conservatism that we need.  Yes Obama fears Cameron and the fear will grow as England turns her economy around as Obama digs America a deeper hole.
