Obama Democrats Keep Paying Off Unions

In governing, choices are made.  You can learn a lot about politicians with how freely and where they spend taxpayer money.  Socialist Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats make no pretense about where their priorities lay and their willingness to do anything and everything for the unions.

The Senate last week showed they won’t hesitate to buy union support.  The Senate passed another bill giving the teachers unions $10 billion.  This is supposed to be an education jobs bill.  Nancy Pelosi is calling the House back this week to vote on the bill.  How much will it cost taxpayers for the House to come back for this one bill?

Last year 5.5% of the money for the 6 million K-12 jobs nationwide came from the stimulus bill.  Now the Democrats are giving another $10 billion to pay union teachers.  Two things show here.  First is a terrible precedent with all this federal money i.e. taxpayer to pay teachers. Secondly this is borrowed money because we don’t have it.

The bill doesn’t even target areas with the most projected teacher layoffs.  Maryland is slated to receive $179 million.  The Maryland officials don’t even have any estimates of how many if any layoffs in the coming school year they might have.  The majority of the school districts in Maryland don’t plan any layoffs and some are hiring.

That doesn’t matter though.  This bill allows school districts to hire new teachers or give the teachers raises.  The socialist Democrats don’t care how they spend it.  This bill is union payoff and nothing more.

Many taxpayers didn’t get a raise last year and won’t this year.  Unemployment is 9.5% and not improving.  Many hard working Americans are losing their jobs.  The Democrats though are giving the teachers more money.

The Democrats have a plan though.  To pay off the teachers unions they will cut $11.9 billion dollars from the nutrition assistance for the poor.  The nutrition cuts are slated to start in 2014.

The socialist Democrats bill borrows money to give to middle income teachers now and promises they’ll pay for it by cutting nutrition funds for the neediest Americans in 2014.
