ACLU Warns Schools About Holiday Celebrations

Socialist Left Attack On Christians

In a letter to the 137 public school superintendents, the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee has warned school officials across the state about holiday celebrations.  They warned them that holiday celebrations focusing primarily on one religious holiday amount to an unconstitutional endorsement of religion.

The letter states that the ACLU welcomes “holidays that teach children about a variety of holidays. We believe, however, that holiday celebrations that focus primarily on one religious holiday can result in indoctrination as well as a sense within students who do not share that religion of being outsiders to the school.”

Mike Looney, superintendent of Williamson County Schools, said the district is taking this warning as a gentle reminder, but has always focused on teaching many holiday traditions in the classroom.

Hedy Weinberg, ACLU executive director in Tennessee, said it is especially important for people to embrace the constitutional guarantees of the First Amendment in order to ensure that religious freedom flourishes.

The ACLU and many others have been attacking Christians and Christmas for years.  Degrading Christians is part of the socialist lefts agenda.

America was founded on Christian values.  We and our children can and should learn about others holidays.  That doesn’t start with eliminating everything Christian.
