Rick Perry A Texas Christian

The Left Hates Christians

I live in Texas. Until now, that fact has neither impressed nor depressed me since I find good and bad wherever I am. There are unique things about the Texas political and religious landscape that make this a state one either loves or hates. Liberals typically hate us, and this week, I read where even conservatives now hate that for which most of the state stands (you have to exclude Austin these days, it’s been overrun with stupidity and there simply isn’t a cure for that disease yet).

A conservative blogger (who shall be nameless but is very well-known in political blogging corners) began her tirade against us when Governor Rick Perry offered a prayer during the recent event in Houston. "No one outside Texas even likes Jesus" was the gist of her argument; I suspect it wasn’t as much about Jesus (I know a few around the world that like Him well enough) as it was the man offering his prayers heavenward. Perry is about to toss his Stetson into the ring for the Presidential race and this blogger seems to be attempting a pre-emptive strike against him; if conservatives outside Texas ‘hate’ him, then he has little chance of winning.

Foolishness. Governor Perry is a man one either loves or doesn’t but he demands respect and gets it all over the state. He stands on principle and – even when he makes an error in judgment – is unafraid of the slime that oozes around his boots. He has maintained a balanced budget in Texas, he brooks no nonsense when it comes to calling upon God for direction and leadership insight, tolerates little foolishness in behavior, morality, or basic human decency, and is very likely precisely what this country needs in order to step away from the chasm which is about to swallow us whole.

The Obomination that currently claims Presidential powers in Washington is a constant amazement to me; a child playing at adult games is the kindest thing I can say about his actions, choice of words, and results. He surrounds himself with other like-minded children who kick sand at one another and at conservatives whenever their toys don’t work or their daycare schedule is changed. Yet, lest I appear to be too simplistic in my assessment of Barry O and his ilk, his toxic narcissism, evil intentions, and godlessness are nothing short of implosive to our country, way of life, and freedoms.

Rick Perry is human and makes mistakes just as all we humans do; his strength lies in his recognition of God’s authority in our governance and personal lives. When our morality is absent and, like Noah’s crowd, evil continually, God destroys. He assures us that every person in power is there by His authority and none is in power without it (Romans 13:1) and this begs the question of why Barry is our ‘leader’. While I do not claim direct intervention or to know God’s will in all things, I personally believe that Barry is our call to repentance. Should we choose to ignore this call, we perish by our own stubborn, foolish pride and have no one to blame but ourselves.

So, Texas has produced some fine, moral men and women and has likewise produced some evil, amoral men and women as well. Perhaps you think this is too harsh, but the next execution in Texas – scheduled for the very near future – is a gang member who is quite proud of his tattoo demonstrating Satan eating Jesus’ brains. His crimes reflect his darkened heart and soul and he reflects very badly upon all the decent people in this state. Of course, we are executing him and Rick Perry will not pardon this monster. For this alone, I thank him and watch as he enters the race against the vile and destructive in our land.

It’s a pity we have veered so far off course that we cannot see that some ideologies and actions are unconscionable and should be eradicated. If we had, perhaps the gang member awaiting death would have spared his victims’ lives and made better choices.

Perry will be the one to watch in this campaign; you can rest assured he will not allow murderous freaks to attack us with impunity and this may be one of the most reassuring things of all.

Always,

Faithful
