Get Involved, Be Counted, Be Heard!
The Tea Party Is Here
Politics is essentially about trying to influence the world and attempting to make a difference in how things work. There are many ways to get involved in politics, whether you are interested in a single issue or the future of the country as a whole. You can affiliate yourself with a particular political party or not or involve yourself in the local community. There is no wrong way to be involved. Just be!
We have seen this year what getting involved does. The Tea Parties are thought to have started out after a widely cited outburst by Rick Santelli on the floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange when in fact the very first protest had already taken place in Seattle a couple months earlier.
What began as a few people, a hundred or so holding signs grew into more organized thousands. Then in September we saw what has been reported as over one million people march on Washington, DC. to oppose the out of control spending.
These are everyday people. Don’t be deceived by the ignorance of the Democrats and their minions, as much as the liberals would like people to think this has to do with race, the fact that a black person was elected President it could be no further from the truth. The race issue is nothing more than a smokescreen for the bad judgment the Democrats and Barack Obama are using in the spending spree they have been on since day one. It is like Washington, DC has been transformed into a giant candy store and they have been allowed to run wild in it.
The fact of the matter is that the tea parties are about the American people revolting over the spending and takeover of private enterprise. Obama was elected president he was not elected to become CEO of General Motors or Wall St.
People have had enough and the successful organizing of these tea parties is showing that. No longer will people lie down while the Democrats steam roll over them. Enough is enough they are shouting and the shout has now become a ROAR!!
The Tea Parties are the perfect example of how getting involved can make a difference. It costs nothing yet makes a big statement. The politicians have had no choice but to sit up and listen to these people. Look at the town hall meetings that were occurring all over the country, these meetings were being held as a direct result of the people rising up. You might be able to ignore a few hundred people and pass them off as trouble makers but to attempt to ignore over one million is political suicide. They know it and they are listening!
With elections upcoming in 2012 we have the politician’s attention, they want our votes. They know we put them in office and we can take them out as well.
So get involved people, do your part! Tell your friends and family members to do the same. Make your concerns known here, debate with others and contact your elected officials often to tell them what you are thinking. You will see results!!
